Unlike most student councils, the Student Advisory Council (SAC), a branch of BYUSA, does not operate like a legislative body…

Members of the council serve the BYU community by actively taking students? opinions to the administration, allowing administrators to make decisions according to the needs of students.

So basically, BYUSA/SAC ‘actively’ tells BYU administration what I think to help them make decisions… Unlike other universities where the student body president is actually on the college board and has authority to do things a bit more ‘active’ than just talking. This quote is from an old NewsNet article where they list off most of BYUSA’s flaws, but pretend that they are really benefits.
