There is so much more you can do with an evening, such as cuddle with a cute girl or to code up some PHP. Take your pick.

I think idleness is a worthy pursuit in and of itself.

it may well be... but only if you make a conscious decision to pursue idleness. don't do it just because you lack any good alternatives.
