sometimes OS X hates my wireless logitech mouse
this post goes out to all my fellow mac mouse haters:
mac OS X doesn't always get along with my logitech wireless mouse. the main symptom is weirdness when trying to hover over menus or hover over the dock... basically, it doesn't. the only way to get a "hover" style action is to right click where i want to hover. which is a problem.
at first it looks like apple operating system quirkiness, but rebooting the compy won't fix it. poking the "connect" button won't fix it. if you're having the same problem as me, try unplugging the wireless receiver for a couple of seconds and plugging it back in.
it isn't enough to unplug the hub that the receiver is plugged into, most likely because my hub is powered. but unplugging the receiver kicks it in the pants and everything starts working again.

I've had no problems with my Logitech MX Revolution. Maybe there are driver problems with your mouse.
Does your mac have bluetooth. I have a bluetooth logitech mouse that I use with my mac and I think its pretty great.
yep, it has bluetooth... i haven't found a bluetooth logitech mouse that i like more than my regular wireless one. some day i'll get around to shopping for one, i guess.
WHAT?! OS X doesn't "just work"? Nonsense! Heresy! Burn the witch!!
You know, I have a similar problem with my logitech wireless keyboard on XP. Sometimes if I type keys too quickly, it adds in extra letters.
Okay, I guess the only real similarity is that the only way to fix it is be disconnecting the receiver.
I have a logitech mouse too, but after I downloaded the "LogiConnect Utility" found in the logitech website, everything worked smooth. There is also a Logitech Control Center for Mac OSX.
Hope it helps!
The Logitech Control Center for OS X is actually a terrible piece of software. It uses Unsanity's APE, which breaks in unpredictable ways under Leopard... But while Unsanity clearly mentions these issues on their website, LCC doesn't even acknowledge their use of the APE, let alone the possible problems with Leopard. I spent several hours tracking down problems with a handful of other applications until I finally removed the LCC :-/
