i've been using firefox 3 on os x for a while, and i have to say it's amazing. doesn't crash (as often). doesn't have memory leaks. it's way faster. and it feels like a native mac app now. i imagine all you windows users will see similar coolness, but i can't speak from experience there...

I usually encourage people to download firefox from google because then they get the google toolbar along with it (and I get a referal). But I wonder if A) Google with have firefox 3 available on that day and 2) if those downloads will count.
Also, do we know if selecting "Help->Check For Updates" in firefox will automatically upgrade to version 3 and if those updates will count?

according to spreadfirefox, the "check for update" won't count. it needs to be a complete download, through firefox's website. i imagine this excludes google downloads as well...
