We have decided to drop the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for released iPhone software...
...the NDA has created too much of a burden on developers, authors and others interested in helping further the iPhone's success, so we are dropping it for released software.
All I can say is "finally".

The fact that Apple had an NDA in place for so long, and the fact that they're heavily moderating what apps are allowed in the store, really discourages me from getting an iPhone or developing apps for the iPhone.
Even if they drop the NDA for released apps, I'm still hesitant to get cozy with an iPhone.
I especially like the bit where Apple thanked everyone for the "constructive criticism"...
