byusa

byusa is gearing up for elections

active campaigning begins march 3rd.

so what do you think? will the BYUSA elections be real this year, or will we have yet another appointed president? which candidate will get kicked out first? does it even matter?

only time will tell...

Unlike most student councils, the Student Advisory Council (SAC), a branch of BYUSA, does not operate like a legislative body...

Members of the council serve the BYU community by actively taking students’ opinions to the administration, allowing administrators to make decisions according to the needs of students.

so basically, byusa/SAC 'actively' tells byu administration what i think to help them make decisions... unlike other universities where the student body president is actually on the college board and has authority to do things a bit more 'active' than just talking. this quote is from an old newsnet article where they list off most of byusa's flaws, but pretend that they are really benefits.

i hate byusa.

i've been bugging them for about 6 months to change a really crappy policy. they finally did, but added a new rule that i can't comply with. so it does me no good whatsoever... thanks guys.
